This weekend we attended Martha Stewart’s Wedding Party in New York City, held at the fabulous Gotham Hall in midtown. We arrived around 10:30 to a line of excited brides wrapped around the block, eager to get inside for a glimpse at Martha’s approved goodies. The space did not disappoint! Gotham Hall is dramatic in and of itself, but lit with pink strobes and packed with NY’s top wedding vendors it was a sight to be seen. After picking up our goody bags (filled with Martha Stewart Weddings latest issue), we hit the floor to meet the vendors and view their wares. We made our way through a trail of tablescapes, collected stationary samples, swooned over dresses and indulged in delicious cake samples. Here’s a roundup of the vendors and moments that really wowed us:
BHLDN: We absolutely loved the romantic 2013 gowns presented by the team at BHLDN. They were frothy with tulle and beaded with love, and we especially adored Catherine Deane’s Onyx gown and Anna Sui’s Aiguille Gown – both stunning in person! We had to hold ourselves back from slipping one on and twirling on the grand ballroom floor.
Page Stationary: This super sweet stationer out of Richmond, VA was on-hand featuring incredible letterpress invitation suites and flat printed stationary. Our favorite was the Margaret set – can you imagine why?
One Girl Cookie: Looking at the spread at this table, it was hard to believe everything was a cookie! The attention to detail was amazing and made each treat a work of edible art. We sampled just a few…
The Expert Panel: After nibbling whoopie pies and sipping champagne drinks as we perused the vendors, we snuck upstairs to hear the expert panel dish their advice on planning the perfect wedding. It truly was an A-list team: (from left to right in the below picture) Claudia Hanlin of the Wedding Library in NYC, Peter Callahan of Callahan Catering, the famous Sylvia Weinstock of Sylvia Weinstock Cakes, Peter Som of BHLDN, Cheree Berry of Cheree Berry Paper, and … AND! Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty!!! They shared secrets on how to make your wedding uniquely yours, and the one piece of advice we loved the most was to “make it personal” – something we strive to do for all of our clients!
It was a fabulous event that made me want to get married all over again. Luckily I get a piece of that with Lovely Day : )
